Due to an upcoming retirement, we are seeking a candidate to perform the Buyer function. Under general supervision, the buyer performs a variety of complex and technical duties involved in the procurement and purchasing of materials, supplies, services, and equipment required in the maintenance and operation of the company. Some of the duties include and are not limited to:

  • Prepare purchase orders based on order requirements and/or requisitions.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory levels for a variety of products.
  • Purchase a diversified range of supplies, services, and equipment for company departments; expedite the delivery of purchased materials and services; make necessary adjustments with suppliers and vendors regarding replacements, incomplete orders, damaged supplies, or unsatisfactory services.
  • Notify the sales team and production of delays of incoming materials. Update the purchase orders with the confirmed ship dates.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, seek out new sources when needed, and work to reduce costs where possible.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and other consumables used by employees.
  • Develop an understanding of our business and the label converting industry and how to navigate and use our software. There will be a significant amount of training required in order to be successful in this role.
  • Develop a solid understanding of our packaging requirements and substrates used.
